Video: Shinichi Osawa - Star Guitar

Shinichi Osawa (aka Mondo Grosso) covers 'Star Guitar' by Chemical Brothers. It's not that common for electronic acts to do covers of other electronic artists, but this track works pretty well. I've heard it for the first time on Pete Tongs Essential Selection.

Video: In the mood for...

Last year, Inga Liksaite had this idea of stitching(!) stills from Wong Kar-Wais movie In the Mood for Love. Later, she met with Claudia Rohrmoser and Ina Viola Blasius in Austria, where they produced this textiles/video/audio mashup.

Check out the other works by Inga, to get an impression about her handmade photorealistic textiles.

Video: Happyendless - Power Forever

One more band from Vilnius, Lithuania. Happyendless. I knew these guys for 10 years, and it was exciting to observe their musical development. They went through the all possible sound and style transformations in their time, but still managed to keep on a high performance level. Their new sound is more mature and the same time it's fresh, as mainstream as it can be, without betraying their roots.

Stakka Bo AKA Johan Renck

There aren't many albums from the 1993, I'm still playing today on my iTunes. Actually, there's only one - "Supermarket" by Stakka Bo. I've had 3 or 4 copies of it in the last 15 years, only to get them all stolen at some private parties. Thanks to mp3, I have a copy now, that's relatively safe.
I realize, that there's at least one generation of listeners, who never heard about Stakka Bo, so let me (re)introduce him you:

Down the Drain

and also their greatest hit:

Here we Go

My favourite tracks from the "Supermarket" - "Natural", "Happyman" and "People (and the things they do)" weren't released as singles, so you'll have to listen to them on the album, if you can find one. Play these tracks on a hangover Sunday, and you'll feel the pain slowly dissapear...

Stakka Bo, a band formed by Johan Renck, released only 2 albums - "Supermarket" in 1993 and "Great Blondino" in 1995. In the end of the 90s, Johan Renck came back to music bussiness as a talented and successful video director. He's working today with such artists as Madonna, Robbie Williams, New Order, Beyonce, The Streets and others. And he's done some cool commercials.
He teamed up with the other swedish star director Jonas Ã…kerlund and formed RAF film company. There's also his first feature film "Downloading Nancy" comming out this year. If it's at least as good as his other productions, I'll have to see it.

Video: Moby - Alice

A new track from Moby from his next album "Last Night" (released in March 2008). It's featuring guest vocals by 419 Crew(?) and Aynzil(?). Sadly, I couldn't find any info about these fellas. Could be it be that it's just a hoax? I guess it's some 'virtual rapper' software, Mr. Hall?

"Alice" directed by Andreas Nilsson (Sweden, again)

Video: Lykke Li - Little Bit

I've heard Lykke Li's 'Little Bit' for the first time on Rob da Banks programme some time in November. After the song was over, I had to rewind and hear it again. And again. And again.
It has this distinctive swedish sound, somehow it reminds me of Peter, Bjorn & John track too. No wonder, because Lykke Li is being produced by Bjorn Yttling of PB&J.

It'd be nice to do a remix for this track. I'll post it here as soon as it's ready. Versprochen.
